Gail Tail was having trouble keeping water down. Patty described her situation this way, “She is a senior cat, 17 years old. She regurgitates quite a bit of water but is able to keep food down. Otherwise she is healthy and active. I am concerned that she may have digestive issues. Can you help by sharing Reiki with her?”
As a Reiki Master Teacher, it has been my experience, that Reiki benefits everyone including humans, animals, and plants, so we went ahead and set up Three 15 Minute Reiki Check-in Sessions with a week to ten days in between each session.
As I began sharing Reiki with Gail, I felt a profound connection between us and I heard her say, “I see deeply into your soul.” And, like a gentle massage, I could feel her energy radiating into my face, throat and heart.
I also sensed that Gail was checking me out. She didn’t want to talk about digestive issues, and said, “It’s an intimate subject and I need to get to know you better before I tell you more about myself.”
Instead of pushing her, I tuned into her Chakras and sensed that she was balanced energetically. She told me she is responsible for “Keeping this ship upright.” By that, Gail meant she is very good at observing and holding space for her human, Patty, and the menagerie of other animals in their household. She showed me how she grounds herself; her energy is like the stones, black onyx and black obsidian. I use black stones for grounding and I love the feel of their energy.
I continued to share Reiki with Gail until I saw her walking away from me in my mind’s eye. It appeared that she was done with me. Patty did inform me that Gail is a no-nonsense girl! And that she is!
Before I let her go completely, I asked, “How can I be of service?” As I asked, the image of a bowl appeared in front of Gail. I imagined that I was pouring Reiki Energy into the bowl. The bowl filled with what looked like thick, rich cream. I interpreted it to be the healing White Light of Reiki. Since there is no linear time with Reiki, Gail could come and “drink from the bowl” whenever she pleased and she was fully aware of this.
As I prepared for our second Reiki session, I saw that Gail Tail had finished the “cream in the bowl” from our first session. I felt that this would be a great day to connect with her. The bowl is almost empty so we are filling it back up with another session of Reiki.
As I checked in with her, Gail was already waiting for me. This time, she was a willing participant. I saw her rubbing up against my right ankle. She told me to “Get the lead out, and let’s do this!”
Settling in with her, I used my imagination and saw her jump up on my lap. This time, we talked about her digestion. She explained, “It feels like there is a little flap (of tissue) in my lower throat. It’s there to keep “stuff” from coming up when it’s not supposed to. Food feels heavy enough to push the flap down when I eat, but sometimes water isn’t dense enough, so the water sits in a funny place, tickles my throat, and it comes back up. Almost like I choke a little bit, but I don’t really choke.”
Gail told me that it’s not really annoying to her when she throws up, but she does like to let “her girl” know about it by voicing her opinion. What she doesn’t like, is that she has to “take care of the same business twice.” (Drink water again after she just did and then regurgitated it.)
As we finished, I saw several layers of what looked like fluffy white cat hair floating up from Gail’s body. I’m not sure what she released, but I heard her say, “I’m really blissed out right now!!”
I know that she was releasing stress and perhaps some old layers of “stuff” that no longer served her Highest Good. I have to admit, I felt pretty blissed out too!
In between the second and third Reiki session I received a message from Patty:
Good Afternoon Lynn,
So you have won the affections of Gail Tail!! Thank you for your report. She has been eating like a horse the past week+ and is more vocal than ever… Your doing, and we are both grateful.
Patty
I don’t always get a report as to how the animals are doing after our sessions, so I was very grateful to hear this news from Patty.
I had a third Reiki session planned in advance for Gail, but on that day, I was tired and had no energy. I told her that I would reschedule our appointment and Gail agreed, she told me, “The garden hose is at a trickle!”
I literally laughed out loud! I explain the energy of Reiki using this metaphor: God is the Spigot and I am the garden hose. The Reiki energy flows from God through me to the recipient(s). Apparently the energy WAS trickling out of the garden hose, not my imagination, and Gail Tail let me know it!
We did connect the following day and I began sharing Reiki. As we began, I looked at Gail’s Crown Chakra. I saw a valve at the top of her head and it looked like a teapot letting off steam. Gail told me that she has been complaining to her girl like a little old lady laments about aches and pains. Gail was grumbling about how it felt; like she was having hot flashes during menopause. No wonder there was steam!
“Why the hot flashes?” I thought, and continued to check the rest of her chakras. I used my pendulum to discern that her Crown Chakra was open and moving in a balanced, clockwise direction, which is the way we want it to be.
Next, I moved to her Third Eye Chakra and I found that it was moving counter-clockwise. “That could account for the “hot flashes,” I thought. Since the chakra was moving backwards, this could create an energetic block. We remedied that by using a hand motion similar to twisting the top off of a jar. It returned to spinning in a clockwise motion.
Moving to her Throat Chakra, I saw that it was wide open and very beautifully blue like a blue, blue sky. We closed it slightly so that she does not release too much energy. And we don’t want her to get a sore throat. (She probably opened it wide while she was wailing at her human, Patty! Good that she knows how to use her voice!)
Gail’s Heart Chakra was also moving in a counter-clockwise motion. We shifted it to clockwise using the same hand motion that we used for her Third Eye Chakra. The energy of her heart showed a beautiful and clear emerald green, which is the color that represents the heart.
Gail’s Solar Plexus was open and clear along with her Sacral and Root Chakras. As we focused on the Root Chakra, I could see her energy flowing gracefully and smoothly up and down her spine, which prompted me to think about her Kundalini Energy.
The Kundalini Energy originates in the Root at the base of the spine. In Hinduism, Kundalini is a form of Divine Feminine energy. This energy, when cultivated and awakened is believed to lead to spiritual enlightenment. Gail is activating her Kundalini Energy in preparation for her transition.
She does not want us to worry, she’s not getting ready to leave now, but she is exploring this energy so that she is able to “propel herself to the next level” when it is time for her to transition. She says, “The Kundalini is like jet fuel to the heavens and I want to be ready to blast off when it is time to leave.”
Recently, I checked back in with Patty and Gail Tail. I asked Patty if Gail is still regurgitating water. “It happens infrequently now, whereas before it was a major concern,” Patty told me. She also noted that Gail is thriving. “She is my mouthy treasure and does not suffer in silence.” Patty concluded.
On a side note—
Our chakras are live, energetic pathways in our bodies and sometimes when we feel “off” it could be that they are imbalanced, closed or moving in a counter-clockwise direction.
Mindfully breathing into these spaces can help to balance the chakras and return them to moving in a clockwise direction which in turn helps us to feel healthy. —

“I was so fortunate to find Lynn last summer. My 12 year old Sasha was nearing the end of her days and I desperately wanted to ease her way. I found Lynn’s name on Penelope Smith’s directory. What a gift to both Sasha and I. Over several months until Sasha was PTS this past January, Lynn’s loving connection to my dog was magical and so very helpful. I learned many things about Sasha through her and in that way was able to be more understanding of her needs. Lynn’s rendering of her sessions with Sasha were spellbinding and worthy of a book as Lynn has such a beautiful gift of expressing herself.
I have continued to ask Lynn’s help with my other critters and she has always been receptive and amazingly accurate. Although I do not completely understand the energy of animal communication, I do not hesitate to recommend her gifts. They will ease your mind as well as your animal companion.”
